Jim's Best Pranks on The Office
I just finished a 3 month long Netflix viewing of all ten seasons of The Office and I loved it. (Netflix is addicting! I've had similar marathons of HIMYM, The Walking Dead, Doctor Who and New Girl.) Unarguably, some of the best and most hilarious scenes are when Dwight K. Schrute gets pranked by one Mr. Jim Halpert. I've decided to compile a list of my ten favorite pranks to share with you all.
10. Gift Wrapped-5x10- Dwight arrives at work to find his desk
gift-wrapped and insists it won’t take him long to unwrap it. But upon sitting
in his chair, he realizes Jim did not gift wrap his stuff, but rather replaced it with un-sturdy cardboard.
9. Garden Party- 8x4- Dwight hosts a garden party for Andy with help from a book entitled "Throwing a Garden Party" by James Trickington. But, as it turns out, Jim penned the book himself and included several
ridiculous suggestions such as loudly announcing guests as they enter and
performing a dance for entertainment.
8. Vampire Jim- 3x16- A bat is loose in the office.
Jim tells Dwight he thinks he was bitten but doesn’t feel a mark. The rest of
the day Jim appears to have vampiric-like symptoms such sharper teeth and an
aversion to sunlight.
7. Vending Machine- 2x11- Dwight finds all of the items
from his desk in the vending machine. He confronts Jim, who gives him a bag
full of nickels to get all of his stuff back.
6. Fax from the Future- 3x7- When Jim is transferred to
another branch, he manages to grab some of Dwight’s stationary to take with
him. Then, from time to time, he sends Dwight faxes…from himself…from
the future. Beware the poisoned coffee!
5. Jim Schrute- 3x20- Question. How much does it cost to
dress like Dwight for a day? According to Jim, it’s around $11. But the results
are priceless.
4. Jell-O- 1x1- The first prank we ever got to see Jim
pull was a great one. Watching Jim deny putting Dwight’s stapler in Jell-O,
whilst eating Jell-O, was a wonderful start to 10 years’ worth of pranks.
3. It Was Dwight- 8x15- While on an overnight business
trip, Jim, who is used to waking up early with his kids, finds himself awake
with nothing to do. And then he thinks of something. Enter Dwight and Erin, who
find Jim’s room a wreck and the man himself MIA. And what’s better, on
the door to the room is a message.
2. Asian Jim- 9x3- Jim is gone to the dentist. Or is he?
Dwight arrives at work to find an Asian man sitting at Jim’s desk. When asked
who he is, the man replies that he is Jim and applauds Dwight for never
noticing race before. Dwight insists the man is not Jim even when he answers
questions about work, but the photograph on his desk says all.
1. Gaydar- 3x1- Michael and Dwight, the gullible duo.
After discovering Oscar is gay, Michael and Dwight decide to go on a gay witch
hunt around the office. Jim informs them of a product known as gaydar, a device which detects gay
people. He sends Dwight the device, which Dwight immediately tries on Oscar. It
goes off so he is convinced that it works. But he’s shocked when he holds it
close to himself and receives the same result.
