Roaring 20's

For Mallory's 26th birthday, we hosted our very first ever Roaring 20's Party. Complete with flapper dresses and mint juleps.

Decorations

The decorations for this party were very simple. We made a Speakeasy sign out of cardboard to attach to our food table.

We made party favors for everyone using small gift boxes bought at Party City. We decorated them to look like dice and inside put beads, candy and little bow ties made out of foam. We cut out the bow tie shape and attached safety pins to the back (we used the pins with a sticky pad attached, purchased at Michael's). The favors doubled as table decorations. We also filled a glass vase full of black and white feathers.

Food

For food, we had finger foods and salad. We made turkey and ham roll-ups, deviled eggs, meatballs and a baked brie en croute. We also had shrimp cocktail and cheeses. Courtney made mint juleps for us to try, as that was a popular 20's drink.

We bought candy cigarettes from Fuzzywigs candy store and apple juice in glass bottles at the Dollar Tree.

Since it was a birthday celebration, Mallory's mom made an awesome, 20's inspired, cake.

Fun and Games

We set up a poker table and played a few rounds. We also may have played Go Fish.

We also had a photo booth (made of red plastic table cloths) with fun props from Party City. We bought cigarette holders, boas, and some pretty sweet mustaches.

And what would any 20's party be without a little Charleston-style dancing?

To close out the night, we rented The Great Gatsby.

All in all it was a fun night and an awesome birthday!
