St. Patrick's Day Party

The obvious go-to party for March is to celebrate that good old Irish holiday. The idea is fairly simple. All you need are a few beverages (alcoholic or not, your preference), green food coloring, and a pot of gold.

We hosted our first St. Patrick's Day party a few years ago. Location is very important when you are throwing a party, and sometimes your own house just isn't quite right. Sometimes it's fun to throw a party at a house most of your friends have never been to before. And that is exactly what we did.

It's also nice to ask permission before you throw parties at people's houses when they are out of town and you are house sitting. We were lucky enough to get a yes. Although, it's possible he thought we were kidding. If you do choose to have parties at someone else's home, make sure you clean up any messes and try not to destroy anything. Mission accomplished in our case.

For food we decided on chili cheese fries and cookie cake. We spent the evening drinking our green drinks, fending off large dogs, and playing with an Xbox Kinect. Good times.

A few years later, we opted for a pie themed party (as St. Patrick's Day was on 3/14/15). Everyone brought a different kind of pie and it was fantastic. Click the links for recipes!

We also decided to play a fun little game where we put shaving cream on all of the guy's faces and threw Cheetos at them. They loved it.

All in all, both parties were great fun and easy to organize. So bake a few pies, throw some Cheetos and dye your drinks! Oh, and don't forget to wear green!
